Acacia Meadows Multifamily Housing

West Sacramento, CA

This 140 unit development is grouped into 16 simple rectilinear buildings on an 8 acre site.  The units are reserved for low- and extremely low-income residents.  Amenities include a large community center with a swimming pool.  The project blends well with the adjacent small-lot single-family houses and condominiums.  The lots on the perimeter of the site are reserved for "sweat equity" owner-built single-family houses.  Also, another lot can be seen at middle right which is reserved for a Senior midrise tower.  When the entire project is built out, a vibrant, diverse community will be the result.

Acacia Meadows

This economical development is clad entirely in fiber cement panel siding.  Stairs and railings are unobtrusive and provide transparency and a feeling of lightness.  The straightforward fenestration belies a mix of 1-, 2- and 3-bedroom units.
